Helping the Love family finish their home
My brother and his family were ripped off $24,000 from a local contractor. They signed a contract for a roof, siding, front porch, back porch with a roof and a ramp and multiple little things. They paid him $24,000 upfront for materials. He came and put the front porch on. Later they found out it has multiple code violations. He took their siding and roof off and never replaced it. The roof was left exposed to the elements for months. Westmorleand commercial roofing and Trauger mennonite church donated material and labor to put a roof on their house. The back part of their house is still exposed to the weather due to not having the back porch and roof built. The plan was to get a ramp on the back porch so they can easily get their son who is in a wheel chair in and out of the house. There is still no siding on the house. The structural part of the roof on the existing house that he put on is not to code. The contractor sporadically showed up to do work, never brought material, and eventually lost contact with them. He refused to give them back their money. They are a single income family with a disabled son and newborn daughter. Any help whether it be financially or with materials would mean so much to them. They are very giving people and its unfortunate they were put in this situation. Any help they receive will not go unnoticed and they will pay it forward when they are able to.
