Helping the Moroccon people with the Earthquake

Hi, My name is Amjid and i am fundraising for the earthquake in Morocco.

As we speak, there is over 2000 dead and counting. The next 48hrs are critical to saves as many lives as possible.

I have visited morocco on many occasions and as those that have visited Morocco before will know the standards of living are very poor and the average salary is not much more than £250 a month for those in a half decent job.

For those who are extremely poor, it is a nightmare and an earthquake on top of this has put them in a very dire state.

I have many friends in Morocco and they have informed me of how terrible the situation is.

I ask that you donate whatever little you can to help those suffering from the effects of the Earthquake, and if I can meet the target set, I will do a personal visit to either Marrakesh / Taroudant to pass on your donations to as many families as I can and will document this for evidence.

The amount donated probably may still not scratch the surface in comparison to the amount they need to rebuild their lives, however whatever little each family can receive will go a long way for them surely, whether it be for food and drink, blankets or money to help them purchase whatever they need.

I hope I can meet this target within the next 4 to 6 weeks so I can prepare to travel out there to pass on your donations.

Alhamdulillah, 7 days today and we have hit the half way mark!

Travel date 14th November 2023

Further cash donations have been made from a number of people since, through a work colleague (Amar Ali) who has aided with this collection.

I will update now around 2 or 3 days before travel with a final total amount of donations collected once all online and cash donations have been put together.

Update 26th November 2023

We are back from this trip and covered 5 small villages across 2 regions.

1st region covered was an area called Mejjat (2hrs away from Marrakesh centre)

Here, we distributed food parcels to each family with approximately 3 to 4 week supply.

A total of 112 families across 2 villages were provided food here with the average family having at least 4 people in each tent.

Our 2nd trip we decided to hit regions furthest out as we were told by locals and from those living in those areas that not many people visit them to provide food aid as many prefer to stay close by for convenience. This was a 5 hr drive to the mountainous region close to the epi centre in an area called Tizi 'n' aist, Taroudant.

Here, again food parcels were distributed to 108 families covering 3 villages.

There was widespread devastation in both regions and Alhamdulillah they were very happy to see aid from all of you who helped with donating.

Currently, I am in the process of compiling my videos together which shows our cultural trip as well as the regions covered and once i have compiled it, it will be added here with the YouTube Links for all to view.

I have also decided to keep the gofundme page open as I will do further trips to other affected areas if certain amounts are achieved that can comfortably cover a few more villages so please pass on this link to others who wish to also participate.
