Helping the Newman Family

Hello Everyone, this is Molly and Hannah, a couple of Kelsey's friends. We made this Gofund me to help the Newman family with medical bills and other bills that may come their way. On October 21, 2023 their 2 year old son Ezra had a seizure which resulted in him needing to be transferred Milwaukee Childrens Hospital. As you can imagine, this will come with medical bills and may lead to them needing to take time off work to be with their son. If you could be so kind to donate, it would be greatly appreciated. Update: 10-22-2023

They were able to reduce his oxygen last night to 50 percent, so that's a good sign. CT scans showed no signs of brain bleed or damage. They did some lab work and found that one of his bacteria levels is high. They will be testing today for meningitis via spinal tap, but want him super stable for the procedure. We feel like an emotional roller coaster. We've had ups and downs. Still no word on how long we will be here, but it's looking like it will easily be the rest of this week. We meet with our team of doctors at 9 to go over a game plan for today. Social Worker is also coming in to hopefully connect us with a Ronald McDonald room. Thank you for all the love and prayers. Update: 10-22-23

Ezra just had a spinal tap and it went really well. They suspect he may have a bacterial infection that got into his brain and maybe caused the seizures but we just don’t know for sure still. It’s a process of elimination. They will be here a minimum of 2-3 weeks more. He is heavily sedated and on the ventilator still but he’s breathing 50% on his own which is good. It’s also really is great that the ct scan showed no brain bleed or damage. We hold onto the good news and time is our friend at this point. He is snuggling his bunny animal and he hears us. He’s fighting. Mom and dad are holding up and staying strong but completely exhausted physically and emotionally. They hope to get more answers today then a bit more rest tonight.
