Helping Kenny Satterfield
Donation protected

My name is Katie Herrera. On Saturday, April 30th it was a normal day up until 12pm or so when me and my husband went outside to check on my dad Kenny who was working by himself in the garage. As soon as we walked in, we saw him laying on the ground, and immediately noticed he was unconscious with blood gushing from his head. At first we assumed he fell 9-11ft off a ladder, but after re-analyzing the scene, we think he simply passed out for unknown reasons and just so happened to have passed out on solid concrete. He was airlifted by LifeForce to the hospital, and is currently still in the SICU(Surgical Intensive Care Unit) where he can hardly open his eyes, and has slurred speech. He has a feeding tube in. He has multiple blain breeds. He has a long road to recovery. For those that know and don’t know my dad he works his butt off every single day to have what he has and has been like that since he was in the US Air Force(he served 6 years and is a veteran). He doesn’t deserve anything that has happened to him. He has a full time job but that is now on halt therefore we aren’t sure how bills will get paid. My mom cannot afford her bills along with his which he pays all the more expensive bills but he also had a job where he made more income than my mom. My dad’s medical bills are in the hundreds of thousands. He does have health insurance through his job. This is not a work related injury therefore his insurance will not cover everything. He is an older man but he is not old enough to receive medicare so once again his insurance will not cover everything. We are not sure how long he will be in the hospital but we do know he will be in the SICU for now, then an in-patient rehabilitation hospital nearby. It’s a day by day thing at this point but we do know this process will take months. My main goal is to use this money for first and foremost to make sure my mom can get by and at least afford the house payment, water bill, and electricity bill. My mom has to continue working to bring in an income. Any little amount helps and regardless if you can or cannot donate, please pray. Praying is the biggest request because God is a miracle worker and I firmly believe He will heal my dad and give my dad this second chance in life. Thank you so much and God bless.
