Helping the Trader Family
Donation protected
Hi! I am fundraising for Kevin and Amy Trader and their children (Myla, Declan, Karis, Ava, and Silas). In the early morning hours of April 19th, a tree fell on their house while most household members were sleeping, causing significant damage.
Amy experienced trauma to the head, resulting in a concussion and requiring several staples for a gash. Much of their furniture and some clothing have been damaged and will need to be replaced. While their landlord, the insurance company, and the construction team handle repairs, the Trader family has to live elsewhere.
Many expenses have come up, and several more may come up in the coming weeks. This is a very challenging time for this loving, generous, and hardworking family of 7. They could use any support available, including funds for replacing furniture and clothing and paying for room and board elsewhere. They are so thankful for all the love, prayers, and support that has already been provided and that is to come! God has kept them safe and continues to take care of them. Thank you for any donation that you can make!
Amy's account of the incident:
"Very early Tuesday morning with no warning, a large tree in our backyard fell
on our house while we slept. We awoke to what sounded like thunder, then a huge shaking and what actually felt like blankets being thrown over my head. I couldn’t figure out why Kevin was screaming at me and why he was pulling me out of bed. Once I stood up and felt that my head was bleeding, I was confused and even more confused about why I could see the sky through my bedroom walls. We ran out of the house and called 911, had a quick trip to shock trauma for some scans and staples to my head, and landed at Lou Ann Trader Richards as usual. ♥️ We’re doing okay, still shaken and awaiting the next steps. In pictures, you can see where Kevin’s bedside table was completely decimated and the huge piece of roof that landed on my head. We don’t know how long this road will be, but we’re so thankful that our lives were spared and have no doubt that it was a miracle. We’re so grateful for our friends, family, and friends who’ve become our chosen family who have all reached out and given us so much support already."
