I will forever remember this text from my dad. "Sit down and I'll call you in a little bit. We had a forest fire today and we lost the house." My heart sank.
Sadly, on April 19, 2022, my parents (Bill and Lisa Wells), sister (McKenna Thompson), her husband and their son (Luke & Adam Thompson) lost their homes and nearly everything they own to the Tunnel Fire in Flagstaff, AZ. This fire is still very active and growing and has caused complete devastation to everything that it has touched. The high winds that Flagstaff experiences often caused it to move so fast. One official stated it moved as quickly as someone can run. My family was only given about 30 minutes to evacuate; just enough time to attend to their animals, round up their dogs, and leave. Unfortunately, their birds and fish were lost in the devastation. In the end, however, we are still thankful. Thankful that they were not hurt and thankful that they could evacuate in the short time that they had. Your donation will help them on the path toward rebuilding their lives and restart. Thank you so very much. Please be praying for them and the multiple other families severely devastated by this fire. Also, keep in prayer the firefighters and forestry officials and their families as they work tirelessly to contain this fire.
