Helping Tia’s Fight
Donation protected
As some of you may already know Tia has not been driving (working) since Christmas break. I would like to say it’s because she’s on a fabulous vacation in the tropics but sadly that is not the case. Unfortunately this is due to a what the doctors believe is a glioblastoma that has formed in her brain. To say this news is shocking is an understatement. Tia will undergo a biopsy next Tuesday to confirm the pathophysiology. The neurosurgeon has already stated that the location of this being in the corpus callosum (basically the brains command center) makes it inoperable. Once the biopsy confirms the type of lesion it is, she will be able to explore chemo and radiation options.
Many of us know Tia as the quick-witted school bus driver with an ability to make people laugh. What you may not know is Tia is a mother to 3 young adult children and grandmother who has dedicated the past 33 years to her community as a school bus driver. Tia has safely transported the students of Kingston & Newton NH the entire time. She loves watching the kids grow up and always gets excited when she has a former student comes back with their little one to ride her bus.
Tia is also very generous. She has a keen eye that has allowed her the ability to notice when someone else needed help. For example, she would notice someone’s clothes were to small for them, worn, or had holes in them. She would find a way to offer help without that person even realizing it. Tia would have that person thinking they were actually doing HER a favor by taking some clothes off her hands. I’ve personally seen Tia do this simple act of kindness with so many children and adults over the years and it still amazes me. Tia has a similar love for animals and would offer help for pets that weren’t even her own.
I am creating this fundraiser for Tia because she has touched so many of our lives for the better and this give us the opportunity to help or thank her in her time of need. Tia is unable to drive or work, disability takes time as well as all of the tests. This time without any income creates additional challenges in an already stressful situation. My goal is to take away some of the burden/stress that is weighing on Tia and her family while she is navigating through this journey. Together we can make a big impact on the resources available to Tia, help cover some of her expenses and take away some of the stress plaguing Tia and her family during this challenging time.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Even if your unable to donate please help by sharing this fundraiser.
