Helping to heal Palinor

Donation protected

Palinor is a hard worker, an A student, and a total bad ass. She is an incredibly kind woman... and just took a nasty fall in a ditch on her bike ride home and broke+twisted her leg. It will take time to not only heal the break, but she will need to recover from the time off and do some PT as well. She will be unable to work during this recovery period and will need extra help - not only financially but with rides to the school, to the Dr., prepared meals, etc.  this is an immediate need.

The story:
"I was riding home from open lab at school along the ditch trail. There are old mining ditches that still provide water to all areas of the county. They are a valuable resources and luckily we have one that runs through our property and there’s a trail that runs along the ditch straight to my college. It’s a really pretty ride and I can make it to school in about ten minutes.
I was riding home from lab and had come up to a narrow portion of the trail. I hadn’t ridden my mountain bike since my fibroids got bad to I was pretty shaken on it, plus I was carrying a full load of books. I stopped on the trail to get off my bike and lost my balance. There was a raised hill on one side so I was tossed into the ditch. I felt my leg brake. I was laying in the cold water with my backpack still on and my bike had fallen on top of me. I was screaming for help. My leg was pointed the wrong way. I finally was able to reach Doug who raced out to me. The ditch was steep and my leg was pointing the wrong way so he couldn’t get me out on his own. We dialed 911. The local fire department from my college came out and those kids got me out of the ditch and onto a backboard. They got me out of the woods to where an ambulance was waiting. I was rushed to the ER and had CT and X Ray. They both showed the break. I’m currently in a splint, waiting for a call back from the orthopedist. I need to meet with them and form a surgical plan. Probably having surgery next week.
All my fun plans of fishing and a fall colors trip to the east side I won’t be able to do and honestly I’m pretty devastated. I need to keep up with school. I need to at least focus on that"
