Tracie Fortner - Rebuilding After Tragedy

Dear compassionate souls,
My name is Trae, and I'm reaching out to you today with a heavy heart and a story that has left me in dire need of your support. Life has taken me through a series of devastating events that were beyond my control, leaving me in a situation where I am struggling to rebuild from the ground up. Your generosity and empathy can make a world of difference in my journey to regain stability and hope.
A Glimpse into My Journey:
In December of 2013, my world was turned upside down when my mother suffered a debilitating stroke. As an only child, the responsibility of caring for her fell heavily on my shoulders, as my father and I dedicated ourselves to providing her with the support she needed. This selfless act of caregiving meant I had to put my own professional aspirations on hold, losing my source of income in the process. My father, in his unwavering commitment, also had to set aside his own serious health issues and cut back his time at work, causing our financial situation to spiral.
As the years passed, the toll of these responsibilities and reduced income left our house in a state of serious disrepair. But the biggest blow came in August 2021 when, in an act of kindness, my father offered a ride to a fellow church member who unknowingly carried the COVID-19 virus. Soon, my parents and I fell ill to the virus, and within days, both my beloved mother and father were tragically taken away from me. Grief-stricken and physically weakened, I found myself standing at the crossroads of an uncertain future.
The Struggle Continues:
Navigating life after the loss of my parents has been an unyielding struggle. They weren't able to afford life insurance, and the only valuable asset left was our house. The legal process following their passing prolonged the sale of our home, causing it to fall into even more disrepair. Without them, my small savings vanished rapidly, and the weight of my family's financial obligations came crashing down upon me. I've been actively seeking employment, but my choices have been severely restricted due to the lack of a car and public transportation in my vicinity. And now, as I prepare to sell the house, I'm confronted with growing expenses that I simply cannot handle alone.
Why Your Help Matters:
I'm reaching out to you today with a humble request for support. I estimate that I will need around $2500 to weather this storm and keep moving forward. This sum will cover immediate expenses such as property taxes, essential groceries, and caring for my faithful companion, Diesel the cat. Your kindness will allow me to focus on finding a stable job and getting back on my feet without the constant worry of financial instability.
Making a Difference:
Your contribution, no matter the size, can bring about a profound change in my life. Every donation is not just a financial gesture; it's a beacon of hope that shows me I'm not alone in this journey. It's a reminder that there are kind-hearted individuals out there who are willing to uplift a stranger and help them regain their footing.
Join Me on this Journey:

A Heartfelt Thank You:
From the depths of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read my story and consider supporting me. Your empathy and compassion mean more to me than words can express. Together, we can transform tragedy into triumph and write a new chapter filled with hope, resilience, and a brighter future.
Thank you for being a beacon of light in my life.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Trae
