Helping Ukrainian harpist Zariana Priadka
Donation protected
Dear friends,
Please help little Zariana to get a harp of her own and replace the borrowed harp that was destroyed by fire under occupation!
ZARIANA’S STORY
This June I met a young talented Ukrainian harp player, Zariana Priadka, 9 y.o.
Her story is both scary and inspiring.
In the beginning of 2021, Zariana happily started her harp studies in Kyiv. Since her family could not afford buying an instrument, they borrowed a new student harp from her music school in Kyiv (Revutsky music school n.5).
After the war started, music became an essential part of Zariana’s life. It helped her to escape the horrors of the war raging around her village. She would sit in the cellar and practice daily, trying to cover sounds of shelling with music. While being under the occupation, her family managed to escape, but only 2 days later they heard that their house was completely burned down by Russians, together with all their belongings, including her precious borrowed harp.
THE HARP
Right now, Zariana’s family needs to find a substitute for the instrument of the music school (example: Salvi Juno 27). The school will accept a similar instrument, also used one. Zariana needs a harp of her own use as well and since her family is facing other challenges, buying an instrument is out of the question.
I decided to start a gofundme and raise money for buying the harp for school and another one for Zariana. She is growing and her skills have developed so she needs a bigger harp. The instrument that I am thinking of ordering for Zariana is a Salvi Mia 34. If more funds are raised, a better instrument will be considered. The money raised from this fundraiser will 100% be used to cover the fees of buying the instrument and paying the delivery to Ukraine.
PLEASE, support by donating, telling your friends, sharing the post etc.
Also, if you or someone you know might have one used instrument of a similar type available for donation, please contact me and we will figure out how to transport it to Ukraine.
