Helping with costs of re-key after car stolen

Donation protected
Hi! I'm Alicia, I'm a disabled, single mum of two that recently had someone(s) break into my house & steal all the keys they could grab, then take off with my car. In my car was my mobility walker, my purse, and other items that were to be used as Christmas gifts. So on top of having the break-in and car stolen, I've been effectively housebound, as I'm an extreme falls risk and am not allowed to do anything without my walker.

I've gotten so extremely lucky that my car was found only 4 days later, undamaged, but the keys weren't left with it. So now I have 2 options:
  • Leave the car at the holding yard until I can raise the money to replace the locks & keys, which will have a daily cost involved.
  • Or have the car towed to my home, put a padlock on the gates, and then get the locks & keys done.
Both options are unfortunately out of reach at the moment, as I had my savings in my wallet in preparation to go gift shopping for the kids. Police have said my wallet is still in the car, but looks like they've grabbed the cash and cards.

The estimates for the lock changes are siting at about $650-700, Sharps and holding/tow can't be advised until after police have finished with the vehicle which could still be another couple days. The holding yard has advised that I have 48 hours after the police release the vehicle to remove it, or there are holding costs.

I'm asking for help towards paying for the Sharps Test (to make sure nothing nasty was left in the car), the tow home, and the cost of getting a locksmith out to change the lock barrels, cut new keys, and recode the transponder. The costs for changing all the house locks was thankfully covered by my landlord.

Anything that you are able to help with, will be so very gratefully received. Anything that is extra over and above the above stated costs I think can be refunded, if not, will be used to put together a thankyou hamper/flowers for the lovely young lady that found the car, and the officers & tow personnel that have been involved.
