Helping with Healing- Kathy & Gabriel’s story

Hello, my name is Shanelle Taylor.

My brother Gabriel and his fiance Kathy had their healthy, beautiful baby girl born in the morning of July 13th. Unfortunately, seven days later on July 20th, Kathy suffered a severe stroke. She was med flighted to an ICU in Boston and has been hospitalized ever since. Without being too specific, to maintain the family’s privacy, Kathy’s mobility has been drastically affected and she has a long road of healing ahead; She and her loved ones continue to remain faithful and hopeful.

Kathy is the mother to 4 beautiful children. My brother Gabriel and the children have been working together to support Kathy and their newborn Joanna. This has led to them having to handle unexpected logistical and financial hurdles, without missing a beat. Working in the near future for either party is unrealistic at this point in time. It is necessary for the family to prepare the home with essential modifications and supplies for Kathy's injury, all while adjusting to life with their newborn.

Kathy is an incredible, God-loving woman, who is a firm believer in the fact that God will provide and always has—but during these difficult times, help would go a tremendously long way as the recovery from this incident will not be an easy feat.

Kathy's oldest son, Nikolas, is starting an exciting new journey into college in a couple weeks. The younger boys, Alex & Julien, will be learning to adapt to their new normal with their mom, all while trying to keep a healthy childhood and return to school in a few weeks. Baby Joanna bringing so much love and light into this scary situation.
