For Barb!

Barb is from Medina, Ohio and was in a near fatal car crash in 1984. She was a freshman in college at Kent State and returned home for Thanksgiving break excited to see her friends. Unfortunately, the car crash left her a quadriplegic, despite spending a year in the hospital and a year in a rehabilitation facility.

Barb endured and went on to graduate with a masters in mental health counseling, marrying and having a son, Max.

For the past 3 years, she has lived in Sarasota, Florida and worked as a therapist in a psychiatric hospital, partial hospitalization program and private practice.

On October 11, 2023, she was in another car accident that brought her to the ICU. She suffered 2 fractured femurs, crushed shins, broken ribs, a broken collar bone and sternum, and a bruised heart.

Barb is fiercely independent with an intoxicating spirit. She lights up a room and immediately makes you feel loved and supported. She has been living independently with the help of caregivers and her 3 furry friends. Her van, which was customized to allow her to drive, and her wheelchair, were destroyed in the accident.

Barb’s life has once again been forever changed. She will need help with hospital/rehabilitation bills, lost wages, caregiver expenses and transportation.
