Help Juan transition through this tragedy!

Donation protected
On June 28th, 2022, Juan was in a tragic motor vehicle accident that caused him to be severely injured. He suffered a severe disabling spinal cord injury, punctured lungs, and multiple fractures, including T3-T9 thoracic vertebrae, a couple of broken ribs, and his right clavicle.

Juan had to endure surgery for his spine to attempt to reconstruct the spinal cord and nerves and reconnect his spine. Unfortunately, his spinal cord could not be reattached and only stabilized the vertebrae as the spinal cord was completely severed.  Nevertheless, it was confirmed that his spinal cord is complete.

Due to his injuries, Juan may never be able to walk again at 24 years old. As some of you know, my brother Juan is a very strong-willed and determined young man. His strength has empowered us all. His smile and sense of humor keep us all going. Unfortunately, we have yet to see his smile through this all. He is one of the strongest people I know. At age 21, he had his lung collapse. Last year, approximately nine months ago, at age 23, he was shot three times by being at the wrong place at the wrong time… and now, at age 24, he has been given the most challenging hand yet... He is determined to be able to walk again, despite being told no. He wants to prove that he can be part of the 3% of people with paraplegia who will be able to regain their strength to walk again.

We are looking into the possibility of a spinal cord implant/replacement, which would not be covered by insurance. Nevertheless, we want to do what we can for Juan, as he is so strong, and give him every opportunity to walk again.

My family and I are asking for your help with Juan's recovery so he can get the best rehabilitation to regain the strength that we all know he has. Juan has quite a long recovery ahead of him. His recovery includes extensive inpatient and outpatient rehab/therapy, which could last 1-2 years.

This is a challenging time for us all. We would appreciate the help and support of any donation, big or small and shares. Juan has such an incredible soul. He does not deserve this. No one deserves this. He always knows how to make you laugh until you cry.

We love you, Juan Garcia Jr. It may be a long journey, but you will get there.

May god bless you all. <3
