Newlyweds & Baby on the Way Housefire Relief

Donation protected
Two of our beloved community members lost everything in a fire this weekend, Juan "Juni" & Gina Serrano. They were recently married this last November and excitedly waiting on the arrival of their first child this September.

Immediate needs are clothes, toiletries- but longterm they will need the funds to completely rebuild their lives. All baby supplies and furniture have been destroyed- and what remains is covered in soot and ash.

Juan/Juni has been a part of the family here at the Independent Bar & Cafe for as long as we can remember and Gina has been a staple in both the Seminole Heights and Tampa restaurant scene. We hope you will support them with as much love & kindness as they have served you with through the years.

The collected funds will be distributed into the account of a local 501c3 that Juni works with, The Heights Classic. They are collecting the money for the couple to make dealing with the various donations easier on them while they focus on taking care of one another.

If you want to donate home goods/furniture/baby goods, please email [email redacted]
If you want to donate anything to the benefit The Independent Bar and Cafe is organizing for Sunday, April 14th, please email [email redacted]

Please also join us this Sunday, April 14th at the Independent Bar & Cafe for Juni Fest: A Benefit for our Friend. Select draft proceeds will go to the couple, there will be a silent auction featuring rare beers (and a chance to brew a recipe with a local brewery!), and live music!
