Hello,
My name is Kae Goode and I am a Black Trans Femme raising raising funds for Gender Affirming Care.
Being able to afford Gender Affirming Care is connected to my mental health and very much intertwined with my liberation.
For the past few years, I’ve contemplated on what it truly looked like to be completely affirmed in my body and I wondered if I would ever achieve it due to so many underlying factors, one huge one being financially resources. Unfortunately, I don’t have health insurance and I am already paying out of pocket when paying for 6 month check ups, HRT and other everyday medical expenses.
Gender Affirming care for me consists of:
Travel Expenses
Surgeries that affirms my gender
& Post- Surgery Healing.
Being a Black Trans Femme/Woman it means having to come face to face with the dangerous realities Black Trans Women and Black Trans Femmes face including our life expectancy which is 35 years old due to violence and white supremacy. With that being said, It’s time to pull up, this is a call to action to those that are invested in all Black lives, the fullness of those lives, and the necessity of supporting those lives while they still exist.
Show up for Black Trans Women and Black Trans Femmes while they are here.
I appreciate all contributions and any form of support.
