On September 29th, 2014, our lives changed forever when my Mom, Kerri was involved in a horrific motorcycle accident that caused her to become paralyzed from the waist down. She suffered devastating injuries including a broken neck, back and collarbone, 8 broken ribs and a punctured lung. As a result of her injury, she has struggled to overcome many obstacles with her health and somehow continues to remain positive throughout her "new normal". Although she puts on a brave face, she struggles with depression and has felt hopeless at times. My hopes in setting up this fundraiser is to give her that hope that one day soon she will be able to regain her independence and walk again.
For the past 5 years, she has been a patient of Dr. Dale Kiker, pain management specialist at Regen Doctor in Camarillo, California. This office specializes in spinal cord injury patients and regenerative therapies including Stem Cell Therapy for the spine. Dr. Kiker has encouraged her to find a way to get the ball rolling and start these much needed therapies.

As we all know, these types of restorative treatments are extremely expensive and not covered by insurance. Stem cell therapy has the ability to repair and regenerate damaged tissues and restore function including bowel and bladder function as well as the potential of gaining functional mobility.
Prior to her accident, my Mom was extremely independent raising my sister Presley and I as a single mom on her own. She ran a successful hair salon working 6 days a week. She has a strong passion for life, loves helping others and was extremely active prior to her injury. In a moments notice, our lives went from go go go to a screeching halt. We ended up losing our home, the salon and our car, basically everything she worked so hard to achieve.
She spent 3 long months in the hospital recovering, causing my sister and I to have to move in with our Grandma Nancy. If anybody deserves recognition, it is her for being our rock. Her selflessness and strength never waver. She works a demanding full time job and remains a full time Grandma. I don't know what we would have done without her.

The past 6 years have taken an extreme toll, not just on my Mom but our entire family as a whole. We continue to remain hopeful that she will be able to walk again in Gods perfect timing.
We believe her breakthrough is possible with the power of prayer and the miracle that stem cell therapy can provide. My Mom has never been one to ask for help which is why she has remained humble and hopeful that things would organically change on their own, but we know there is so much more in store for her. My Mom continues to inspire everyone she meets and she deserves every fighting chance available to her.
