Hi everyone - my name is Chris. I'm helping my Gramma who isn't good with technology in this troubled time. Any support you can provide is appreciated.

Delores Toye, affectionately called “Kiki” by those who know and love her, has been through a lot in her 79 years. On Sunday night, Aug 28th, she was watching TV when she heard a smoke alarm in the lower apartment at 48 Prentice St ringing. When she went to check her kitchen, she smelled smoke so she grabbed her beloved cat Pumpkin and ran downstairs and out of the house. She heard firetrucks and realized she needed to move her car for them and went back in to get her purse and car keys which in hindsight was a VERY bad idea. By then, the fire was already spreading rapidly inside the back wall of the house, into the attic, and was raging right behind the wall at the top of her only exit! Luckily, Kiki and Pumpkin made it out safely, but only with each other and the clothes on her back.
The exact cause is still under investigation but the house was declared a total loss. She is staying with one of her daughter’s in Lockport in the partially finished basement but that is only a temporary solution and all of her other family is in NT and California! Kiki and Pumpkin have NOTHING so any donations of any kind would be greatly appreciated! Including any information on a new apartment that will accept her cat, preferably in the North End.
Wrights Corners Fire Hall #3, 7103 Rochester Road, Lockport, has generously agreed to accept items on their behalf and cash donations would be greatly appreciated so that Kiki can begin to replace clothes, toiletries, everything! Kitty supplies would be greatly appreciated as well. Kiki celebrated her 79th birthday 2 days after this devastating fire…if you see her, give her a hug because that’s all she keeps saying she needs!
