As some of you may know about 4months ago my mom starting have real bad headaches and after many MRIs and CTs, spinal tap, hospital visits and many many doctors visits we found out that she has a brain tumor as well as hydrocephalus. On May 28th we went to Shands hospital in Gainesville for a consult with a great neurologist then a few hours later he admitted her and within 2days she had a brain surgery called third ventricularoscopy which helped with the hydrocephalus and they also took a biopsy of the brain tumor. After a 5day stay we left the hospital and awaited the results of the biopsy. On June 21st we went back to Shands for a follow up on her surgery and also the biopsy results. We then found out she has a rare brain tumor called pineal parenchymal tumor which Shands only sees about once a year so you can imagine how rare the tumor really is. It is located on the Pineal Gland so unfortunately they can’t remove it and she has to do radiation and possibly chemo. With all of this happening she has been out of work for almost a little more than a month and just started back part time until radiation begins and she will be out of work again. Because of how rare the brain tumor is the treatments and doctors are all in Gainesville, which is a 4hour drive from where we live. On July 8th we go back to the radiation doctor and he will give us a treatment plan for what the next step is. We are asking most of all for your prayers and keeping us in your thoughts as well as any donations that will help with the travel expenses, medical bills and regular bills while she is out of work.
