Help my mother to safety
This is for my wonderful single and strong mother.
Two days ago, I learnt that I could of almost lost my mother, Suzanne. I was on video call with her, now that she is released from emergency hospital in Honduras. She was attacked by a stranger while she was peacefully snorkelling by herself, on an island she called her paradise, Honduras.
She was smacked behind the head three times, which split her head open. She was dragged to shore by the attacker and stabbed in the neck with a knife. She barely made it to the emergency hospital by that time her lungs her collapsed and blood had gotten in vital organs, and she also lost over two litres of blood. The medical expenses are a ridiculous amount and they needed the money up front to be able to give any medical care to her. She had help from a friend and she wishes to give back.
When my mother found Honduras and began to take swimming courses it helped a lot with her previous issues. She was free from abusive relationships and learnt to cope and live with her manic depression and chronic pain disease. She is strong and wonderful woman, I will always look up to her and how she never gave up, no matter what happened. Honduras had become her safe haven where she could mend her problems and find peace. It helped her a lot with her depression and swimming helps with her chronic disease.
My first goal with be to safely get my mother back to Canada where she can get full medical attention, check ups and medicine that are not in Honduras. A plane ticket from there to here is about $1,000.
I'm also hoping to raise funds to help her pay back her friend who kindly helped her with the front deposit that allowed her medical attention in Honduras, which could of been the line of life or death for her.
I wish my mother for a safe journey, to take care of herself and make a speedy recovery, and to be back here, safe, where I can take care of her.
Thank you all so much for your help!
Love,
Michelle
