Auntie Decky's Cure For Cancer Fund
Donation protected
I never thought I would use this to ask family and friends for help, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
First of all, this is not for me; we found out recently that my aunt, Mylene aka "Auntie Decky", my mother's baby sister and the youngest of her 6 siblings, is battling Stage 4 Cancer.
Unfortunately, treatment and medication for this disease is very expensive. Since Auntie Decky doesn't have health insurance, she has to pay those costs out of pocket, and I am making every effort I can to raise funds for her immediate care.
This is her story:
In October 2014, Auntie Decky underwent a double mastectomy because of a large lump in her chest. The doctors informed her that she was in the clear, but over the course of the next six months, she became progressively weaker. She had a heavy cough and even began to cough up blood. At first, knowing that her immune system was in a weakened state, she assumed that she had contracted a virus such as pneumonia.
After running a few tests, the doctors discovered that she had multiple soft tissue lesions on her left and right lungs, meaning that the disease was in a metastatic state. The cancer has spread and continues to spread to other organs in her body.
She was advised by her oncologist to start chemotherapy right away.
This is where you, my friends and family, come in. Any donations you can afford will make a huge difference to her life.
Please understand that I am making this request out of love for my aunt, and I would not ask it of you if the need were not a dire one.
Thank you so much for your support and for spreading the word.
