Help Little Hamoudi and his family survive this war

Hello everyone,

I will begin by introducing myself. My name is Shubeg. I am from Sydney, Australia. I am raising funds for little Hamoudi, his baby sister Maria and their dad Mohammed, whose lives have been devastated by the ongoing war. I first came across Hamoudi on the Gaza Soup Kitchen's Facebook page. This tiny little thing was running towards the soup kitchen with a huge pot in his hand. I realised he had been coming to the Soup Kitchen to get food for himself and his family.

After reaching out to a few people, including one of the founders of the Gaza Soup Kitchen, Hani Almadhoun, I was finally able to connect with Hamoudi's dad and over the past few months I have gotten to know the family better. I have learnt about their hardships and I have laughed and cried with them.

I have formed a strong bond with Hamoudi and Maria, which is what brings me to this platform. I currently send a very small amount of money to help Hamoudi's family, but with soaring food prices, harsh winter conditions, and unsafe housing, I feel I need to reach out to the wider community and seek their support to assist Hamoudi, Maria and their family through this harsh situation that has been imposed on them.

They are currently displaced and live in a partially destroyed house. I cannot even begin to imagine what that's like. I would like to help alleviate some of their suffering by raising funds to help them get through this terrible war.

I would appreciate every single person who can make a small contribution to this fundraiser. Little Hamoudi would be so happy!

I asked Hamoudi's dad to tell his story in his own words:

"My name is Mohammed Khalaf, the father of the Gazan child Hamoud, whom you all loved through his innocence in childhood. Let me introduce myself to you as a father like all fathers around the world who work hard to provide security and peace for their families. My beautiful family and I were living like any family in a warm, beautiful, and quiet home filled with security and peace. I was playing with my children Hamoud and Maria in security and peace until the drums of war beat, turning peace into hell for every family in the Gaza Strip and dismantling the Gazan society so we became displaced from place to place. As a Gazan citizen, I have suffered tremendously from this raging war that turned our beautiful past, me and my family, into a tragic situation that I cannot, as a father, provide security and peace for my family. It has reached a point where I cannot find anything I can provide from the simple necessities of daily life for my children to make them feel that they are still living our beautiful past, not our painful present. Thank you for your kind hearts, Mohammed Khalaf".
