Fire Relief Fund for Byron & Nadja

On Friday night, February 24th, our dear friends and MMS community members Nadja and Byron, with their two little girls Lila and Yaya, lost their apartment to a big fire above Jacob's Pickles. The family was not hurt, but without insurance, their loss has been devastating.

If you saw or read about the fire, it directly impacted the 3rd to 5th floors, adjacent to their 2nd floor apartment. The Johnson's quickly rushed to safety, but smoke and water damage along with firefighters fighting the spread of the fire from within their apartment will force them to start from scratch.

The rental required a gut renovation and with the uncertainty around time frame, they will likely need to secure a new apartment, clothing, furniture and other essentials. Fortunately, some families have offered them a place to stay, in the short term. I'm sure that it's difficult to imagine what they're going through, but it's clear that they will need help to get back to normalcy.

We're initiating this effort, assuming that the community will help them get back on their feet. I have learned to make sure that our home owners policy is current. Thank you for your support.
