Help Nya Build a Hurricane-Resistant Mini-Mart in Grenada

Hello, everyone! My name is Nya, and I’d like to share a bit about my journey and the exciting dream I’m working toward.
I came to the U.S. for my birthday as a young child full of hope and big dreams of becoming an architect. It wasn’t an easy path, but I held onto my passion and worked hard. Thanks to DACA, I was able to work legally and contribute to society in meaningful ways. I went to college, earned a degree in architecture, and poured my energy into growing as both a professional and a person.
Along the way, I discovered a love for a unique style of architecture called earth sheltered architecture—a timeless and sustainable building style that speaks to my values and vision for the future. For the past few months, I’ve dreamed of using this knowledge to make an impact, but I struggled to find the right place to begin.
Now, I’ve found my answer: Grenada, my mother’s home country.
I want to return to Grenada, after years waiting pains takingly for a solution on DACA. I want to build something truly special—a mini-mart that embodies sustainability and resilience. My goal is to construct this mini-mart using earth sheltered principles and a Bermuda roofing system, ensuring it can withstand hurricanes and storms while standing as a model for durable, eco-friendly design.
This is more than just a business venture; it’s a way to create a lasting legacy in Grenada, contribute to the community, and build a fresh start in the land that feels like home.
To make this dream a reality, I need your support. Your contributions will help cover the costs of constructing this unique building, setting up the business, and bringing this vision to life.
Every donation, no matter the size, brings me one step closer to creating this sustainable, hurricane-resistant mini-mart in Grenada. Thank you for being part of this journey with me.
Let’s build something incredible together!
