Urgent Help For My Family To Rebuild our Home❗️

‏Even the smallest act of kindness can make a significant difference.

My name is Osama Abukarsh, a Gazan and a Business Administration graduate. After exhausting every possible avenue for help, I am left with no choice but to initiate this fundraising campaign. This is my final lifeline to support my family. With deep despair and a desperate plea, I kindly ask for your assistance in providing my family with food, water, and the means to rebuild their shattered lives.

‏My family of nine once lived peacefully in the Nasr neighborhood in the northern Gaza Strip. In mid-October, our lives were upended by forced evacuations and displacement. We moved multiple times, hoping to find safety, but each location was soon struck by bombing and violence. First, we sought refuge in a UNRWA school in the Maghazi refugee camp, then in a rural area in the Zawaida region, only to be displaced once again when a tank missile hit the area. Ultimately, we had no choice but to flee under continuous bombardment, leaving behind all of our belongings.

‏Now, my family is living in the central Gaza Strip in Dir Al-Balah, facing unbearable conditions. We lack necessities such as food, water, and electricity, and with Israel’s declared intention to invade Rafah, our ability to escape Gaza is almost impossible.

On the way to Rafah, seeking shelter, we received the devastating news that our home – a place built with hard work and love – had been destroyed in an airstrike. Our aspirations for a peaceful life were shattered, just as they were for more than 70% of households in Gaza. To add to our hardship, our small family business was also‎‏I want to assure you that the donations you provided have not been in vain but have been widely used to meet our basic needs and provide the necessary comfort in these difficult circumstances.

Thanks to God and your generous assistance, we have managed to overcome some of the hardships and challenges we have faced.

How Your Support Can Help❗️❗️

‏Your generous donations will directly address our most urgent needs:

‏Water: The price of non-potable water has risen to $3 per 5 liters, and potable water to $4 per 5 liters, if available. Our family requires around 1,000 liters of saline water daily, which costs approximately $400, in addition to around $50 for potable water.

‏Food: Basic food items are beyond our reach. Vegetable prices have surged to $200 per kilogram, and meat, if available, costs $300 per kilogram. These are basic survival needs.

‏Cooking Gas: Due to the lack of cooking gas, we are currently cooking over open flames. The cost of cooking gas has soared to $50 per kilogram.

‏Shelter: Renting any piece of land for a tent costs at least $500 per month. Without a safe place to stay, we are at risk of exposure to the elements and ongoing attacks.

‏Evacuation to Safety: We are trying to evacuate my family through the Rafah border crossing to Egypt. The process requires securing paid permits, costing between $6,000 and $9,000 per adult and $2,500 per child. These fees cover the necessary coordination for permits and border crossing, and we must prove sufficient funds before being allowed to cross.
