Help Plant a Native Forest in the Peruvian Andes
Donation protected
On the 6th of December 2024, we'll be planting 15,000 trees as part of our "2 Trees Per Person Per Day" commitment but we'd like to plant 10,000 more!
1 tree, planted on your behalf, costs just $1 / £0.75
If you’d like to be a part of this campaign, contact me, Paul Cripps on sales@amazonas-explorer.com to discuss how.
Amazonas Explorer has been operating trips throughout Peru since 1982 and has shown over thirty thousand happy clients the very best of this incredible country and its amazing people.
However, one thing we have been unable to ignore is how climate change in the Andes is affecting not just the mountains and rivers we love so much, but also the communities who live and farm them.
With glaciers melting and rainfall diminishing, it has become much more difficult to grow the crops they rely on to survive. Drying up water sources and an increasingly large risk of landslides makes day to day life in the Andes much more challenging.
Back in 2007 that Paul Cripps, our managing director, said enough is enough, and began to channel 1% of Amazonas Explorer’s annual turnover into planting native Queuña trees in the Lares Valley.
With the help of local communities and external donors such as yourself, we have planted well over a 1 million trees and we have absolutely no intention of slowing down.
These trees bring new life to the valley. They clean the air and the rivers, restore the land, and reduce the risk of landslides. They improve water retention in the soil, and offer much needed jobs and stability within communities that battle scarceness as a part of everyday life.
If we all work together, we can make a difference.
