Help Raise Charlie for a Veteran!
Donation protected
Hi I'm Charlie!
I am being trained to be a service dog for a US Veteran who could use my help due to a military related wound or PTSD. Essex Mortgage has adopted me and will be my foster family for the first year and a half of my life while I am being certified. Tackett Service Dogs of Orange County will be training me and when I am fully trained I will be donated to a Veteran in need. My future is very important and can be very critical in helping the lifestyle of one of our country's heros. It will take 18 months of dedicated training before I can be a real service dog!
Some of the ways dogs assist Veterans is by opening doors, turning on and off lights, retrieving dropped objects, and bracing to aid a person in standing or getting up. Some service and companion dogs are taught the specific needs of their recipients like guarding them, or covering - watching behind the person, or for a person with PTSD for example they will know the triggering sign of an episode and will calm them out of it. And sometimes a dog provides just the freedom to go out of the house with confidence. Of course, our dogs are loving companions and contribute to the emotional well being of all involved.
Essex Mortgage is so excited to be a part of Charlie's life knowing the greatness he has in his future and how much he can offer one of our country's veterans. Because we want to give Charlie to one of our veterans at no cost to them, any financial contribution to Charlie's upbringing is greatly appreciated.
Examples of monthly costs:
Food: $150
Training: $600
Vet Bills: $100
Supplies: $150
Misc: $200
