Help Risa Live

Hi, My name is Risa Pyles, a former elementary school teacher,  and this is my story. In 2006, on Thanksgiving Eve, I fell out of a bunk bed that had no railings or ladder, as a result I broke my neck and am now a quadrapalegic. I was put on a respirator, feeding tube and trach and the doctors gave me no hope. I now have a colostomy bag, cathater bag and a pump in my stomach that sends out pain medication to my body 24 hours a day. I have recurrent UTI's and Kidney infections which sends me to the hospital at least once every 2 weeks. I'm immune to all antibiotics, and can only recieve certain IV drugs.
Before my accident I was a Montgomery County Public School Teacher. Because of the love I have for children, I managed to teach for 2 more years in the condition I was in.  My husband left and divorced me after the accident so I was alone raising a 12 year old son. I managed to live in my home for 3 years with a caregiver until my money ran out. I have since bounced from nursing home to nursing home, being physically, mentally and emotionally abused. As a result I have post traumatic stress disorder. In January of 2015 I moved to an Assisted Living Facility and for the first time, I feel I can call it my home. Unfortunateley, due to my declining health, they are raising my rent $1000 a month to bring in extra care.  My husband passed away, due to a massive heart attack in 2012 and left me with a widow's inuity of $4,100 a month plus my Social Security of $1,400 a month. My monthly rent now is $5,400 which leaves me with $100 a month for personal hygiene and other medical neccesities such as, baby wipes, gloves, pads, etc. My caregiver has just informed me that my monthly rent will be increased by $1000 effective September 1, 2015.
My goal is to raise enough money to keep me in my home for the next 2-3 years. If I can't raise the money my only option will be to go to a nursing home to die. I am only 57 years old and my son is now 20 and has struggled to live on his own for 3 years, being homeless at times. He is what keeps me going on a daily basis. Any amount would help, and if you can't donate, please help by sharing my story through email, facebook, twitter or any other type of social media.  Thank you for taking the time to read my story! Love to you all!
