Hello, my name is Jerastina McNeal. On June 5th, my father Jerome McNeal, 64, was found deceased in his home. Our family is devastated by this sudden loss, and we are struggling to cope with the emotional and financial burdens it has placed on us.

My father was a retired Navy Veteran, a devoted father, grandfather, and godfather to many. He was a God-fearing man who loved his three horses, Shadow, Sweet Thing, and Miss Black Thing.

Dad was found in his home in Byhalia, Mississippi, with one gunshot wound to the chest. We were told his wallet containing sensitive items and his telephone were all missing when police arrived on the scene. Neither have been recovered thus far.

Myself and my loved ones were not notified of my father's passing until the evening of Sunday, the 9th, well past the end of the day. His home was stripped of everything of value: a television, computer monitors, furniture, jewelry, clothing, and other items.

Countless precious memories are missing and/or destroyed. Currently, three of my father's four vehicles are missing, and unexplained charges have been made to his credit cards and various other accounts, as recently as yesterday, June 11th.

As we prepare for our new reality, our first Father’s Day without our Dad, and begin preparations for his arrangements and celebration of life ceremonies, we are burdened with heart-wrenching questions surrounding the circumstances of my father's passing and the events that have followed.

The money from this fund will go toward a private autopsy report and investigation, as well as any additional funeral costs or fees. Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean the world to us during this incredibly difficult time.
