HELP SAVE NATHANIEL
Hospitals for Humanity is currently leading in the fundraising efforts for Nathaniel Boluwatito Oyebode who is the 22 year old son of Mr. David & Dr.(Mrs) Tinuade Oyebode.
Nathaniel is promising and did well in academics and music.
He got into covenant university Nigeria to study computer engineering, but tragedy struck in his 300 level when he collapsed in class and thereafter experienced repeated and frequent ill health.
Sadly, actual diagnosis remained unknown until January 2018, when he was found to have a thoracic tumor diagnosed as diffuse B cell non Hodgkins lymphoma (a form of blood cancer affecting lymphocytes). This was devastating to him and the family.
He suffered several complications including multiple pleural & pericardial effusions, septisaemia, low blood counts, deep vein thrombosis, hemiparesis and much more.
His parents tried to provide the best available treatment for him at great financial, emotional and physical price.
The location of the disease created complications necessitating prolonged hospital stay between January and June with bills and chemotherapy costing millions of naira.
His family stuck by Nathaniel in this long and tasking journey, mopping up all family resources because they refuse to give up on their son.
Hence this fundraising appeal to save him.
Currently, he is hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit of Emory University Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia, USA. He arrived on 28th June after the journey requiring oxygen and ambulance services to the hospital on arrival.
He is currently receiving treatment for complications and the tumor is now diagnosed to be an aggressive T-Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma (TLBL).
This warranted starting tests and treatment all over. The Emory team discovered he had clots in both lungs and his heart, fluid around his lungs and heart and a damaged left lung.
He has had pulmonary and cardiac surgical procedures, suffered respiratory failure requiring life support and recommencement of new and expensive treatment.
These are all associated with a growing hospital bill, currently at over $600,000 and counting as treatment continues.
In spite of all, Nathaniel, in his will to live, continues fighting for his life. He looks forward to getting well and completing his studies, like youths his age.
Available and hopeful treatment options for Nathaniel currently include bone marrow transplant, costing hundreds of thousands of USD.
This is currently beyond the reach of his family and they seek help to save their son's life by donating to his treatment here or via
His mother's bank account:
Account name: Tinuade Oyebode
Account number: 3004909009
Bank name: First Bank Nigeria.
Every bit helps, please...
Thank you very much.
