Help/Support - Donnie Crump’s Family

The morning of August 6th, 2019 the life of my sister (Laura) and the life of my 12 year niece changed forever. Her spouse of 15 years attempted to take his own life while they were home.
She was terrified but able to call 911 and have medical help arrive quickly. He was then taken to the hospital where he underwent extensive surgery to save his life. The doctors had to remove more than half of his liver. While he did survive, his L1 vertebra was shattered and there is a bullet fragment lodged in his spinal cord.
After a little over a week in ICU he had to go through a second surgery to help redirect the bile drainage from his liver. The surgery was successful.
At first, doctors told us that he would be paralyzed and would not be able to walk again due to the spinal cord injury. Once he began to wake up in ICU the nurses were able to see that he did have some movement in his legs. While he is doing better each day, he will require a great deal of physical therapy. We are hopeful that he may be able to walk again.
He is positive about getting better and getting the treatment he needs both physically and emotionally.
They have incurred a lot of expenses due to the medical costs and loss of primary income. He did does not have short term disability because of a recent job change. This is why we have decided to set up this fundraiser for them.
Any help and prayers are welcome.
