Help the Beautiful Yvette

Donation protected
Yvette Ward is currently experiencing a medical crisis. As most of us know, she has a life time struggle with arthritis in her hips and left knee. Although it is a persistent and painful condition, but she has managed to push through it and work in our school cafeteria for the last 12 years. Even as the cafeteria food service companies have been replaced, she has remained a constant in our NYMC school cafeteria. Students love her and have requested the school to keep Yvette through the many changes. In order for her to overcome arthritis pain in her left knee, she had to put her weight on her right side/knee. After many years of the constant pressure from her body on her right knee, in January 2017 her right knee fell apart too. The cartilage in her right knee wore away making it impossible for her to work. Currently, she can only walk to cover her daily necessities.

This is why you have not been seeing her in the cafeteria recently. Yvette cannot walk and therefore is unable to work. She has not had any income since January and has struggled to pay for her basic needs such as rent and food bills. Her 18 years old son is about to drop out of school to find a job and help his mom.

Yvette is a wonderful human being. She added endearing character to our NYMC school cafeteria and always gives us personalized care and attention. Yvette is a great asset to our school and it will be amazing if we can gather our forces and collect some funds to help her in her time of need. This will help her cover her home/food bills and some of her medical bills. The fund raise duration is one month. From April 24th to May 24th. Please help Yvette.

The second part of her tragedy is she doesn’t have health insurance. Yvette can’t afford to see the doctor now. She is trying to acquire Medicaid health insurance and still waiting for an answer. She is also trying to get temporary disability so that she can have some sort of income. The new cafeteria food company, Lessing’s, has been wonderful in supporting and helping Yvette in filling the temporary disability. I pray she gets it as soon as possible.

We started this fund raising effort for Yvette and we hope to raise $10,000. Please see if you can donate to help Yvette. From April 24th to May 24th.

Thank you
