Help send Inuit care packages!
Donation protected
For the Holidays instead of spending money on gifts I will be sending care packages to families in remote areas in Nunavut and the Northwest Territories(my home land).
How often do we spend many hours and a lot of money for gifts that aren't even needed or used? By sending a basic care package with food, toiletries, clothing we can make a whole families holiday.
In some areas they charge more than $100 for a case of water, $30 for a head of lettuce, $6 for an apple. 67% of families in Nunavut suffer from food insecurity on a daily basis. That is almost 10x the national average.
Children go to sleep hungry because their parents can't pay these absurd prices. This is OUR country, Canada, not somewhere across the world. It'll cost quite a bit of money to ship boxes up there (between $100-$150 for 20kg box) but imagine how grateful those families are going to be for the most basic things we take for granted everyday.
If you would like help by donating money to send food and goods to families who are in real need, I will be getting the list of families from the organization Helping Our Northern Neighbors.
All money goes toward feeding our Northern Families.
We will also be sending packages to food banks for people without homes/families.
If you're in or around the Toronto area and would like to donate goods, please message us and we can arrange a drop off location.
We're accepting baby diapers/food/wipes, Tolietries, Baking good (flour, baking powder, sugar, pasta etc.) and other light weight foods with nutrition.
Please help me help my people.
