A friend to many but the love of my life…
Johnny Yescas, a very caring man with the hugest heart was diagnosed with liver disease which has now turned into stage 4 liver failure. However, due to his caring nature and desire to care for others, he has always put everyone else's needs ahead of his own. When it was time for his doctor's appointments he’d many times reschedule because either someone was in need of his talent, whether it be a roof that was damaged and needed immediate attention, or a job needed to be finished so his co-workers and him could get their paychecks. He has always put everyone ahead of himself. That dedication and selflessness and his huge heart has now left him fighting for his life. My best friend, my love, the man of 3 wonderful sons, a grandpa, brother, son, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend to many, needs our help now.
Johnny is well known in the Sahuarita/Green Valley area. He grew up in this area and lived here nearly all his life, from a young boy to the man he is today. A good 40 years of his life was spent here. Many know him from his school days, many people know him from the business he owned called “Sitting Pretty Car Wash and window tint”, and still many know him from his job at a local roofing company. He also worked at a local air conditioning company. He is definitely a man of many skills. He could often solve many complex problems and leave many jaws hitting the floor. A perfectionist at his finest.
Johnny was recently in the hospital for nearly a month straight, but his condition quickly deteriorated. The doctors told us his prognosis was grim. Many suggested hospice. But we just couldn't accept that, so we continued to seek help only to be told again hospice was needed at this time, There was no more doctors could do for him.
Everyday I stayed and held his hand. I’d go to work in the day and come stay with him at night. But our bills continued to pile up. What do I do, go to work and leave my husband's side only to come hours later? Yes, his family came to spend time and support him but I am his spouse, and he needed me the most. As his condition continues to deteriorate, I will continue to sit by his side holding his hand, but I need the help of our many friends, family, and community. I have taken an L.O.A. to be here for him now in hospice, but my PTO is very limited as I have already exhausted a good portion of it to his needs already.
He is currently in hospice, and if it wasn't for our family coming and giving me respite and visiting Johnny I would have totally broken down. So it is with a heavy heart that I now ask for help with our financial obligation; gas, food and, when the time comes, funeral expenses. I worry myself sick everyday with thoughts of how am I going to pay for all this. All these questions and concerns consume my mind while sadness and grief engulf my heart.
So if anyone could help in any way to give this loving soul everything he's earned but most importantly deserves, my heart will be eternally grateful
