Help Zen Continue His Education & Flee His Family

Zen is a 19 year old trans man who aspires to be a creator of all kinds, someone who will change people's lives for the better through the means of art and literature.
He has been an artist his whole life, taking each class he could in highschool, improving his skills as much as he could. Like most peoples with dreams and goals, Zen has to get a degree and find independence. So, he has been attending university for a BFA in English w/ a concentration in creative writing. He's an honors student, and works hard to be someone people can look up to.
Yet, life doesn't come without setbacks. So now, Zen is being faced with a financial burden brought on by—those he thought he could trust the most—his own family.
What happened?
For most of his life, Zen has endured a broken household filled with instability, fear, and neglect. Due to the trauma endured throughout his childhood, he has been diagnosed with PTSD. When he left for college, he had hoped this was changing, but it had only gotten worse. So, Zen decided had to leave home, even if it meant he would be homeless.
For almost a year now, Zen has been barely scraping by financially, with his only income being from donations & commissions for the past 6 months. Thanks to his disability—fibromyalgia—finding a job has been difficult.
To make matters worse, his parents have been using his financial dependence on them to control him (via health, auto, and phone plans). Due to this, FAFSA considers him a dependent, but his parents have been pushing off completing the forms. This leaves Zen without any aid to cover his university bills, which means he cannot register for next semester's classes.
Then, his mother stole his identity, using it to open credit card. After reaching the limit on the credit card, she abandoned it, leaving it unpaid. This depressed his credit score, barring Zen from being able to apply for private student loans.
All of this has left a massive financial & mental burden on Zen, a burden he needs to escape if he wants to continue livin.
What is the goal?
The current goal is $6K which is about what Zen needs to pay his school & gain financial independence from his family!
How will funds be used?
- $5K - to cover current university fees.
- $1K - two months worth of auto / phone plan fees to give Zen a kickstart to financial independence.
- All extra funds will go towards necessities such as pre-existing bills, medication, groceries, hygiene, as well as future housing & education.
Thank you!
Your support means everything, you can help Zen with the smallest donation, even sharing to your friends & family!
Together, we can bring Zen to a place in life where he can influence others in the same way you have influenced him!
