HEMA
short film | drama , a slice of life
Logline:
Plunged into a country far different from hers due to her husband’s job, HEMA must assimilate into American culture, connect with her son and find her voice despite language barriers.
Director's Statement:
This story is based on my upbringing in the states but told from my mother’s perspective. It’s an homage to all the struggles she went through to raise me. The decision to stay was hers in the end, and she embraced it fully. My mother passed away from cancer when I was 19, but the impact she had on me in those early years is immense, and the sacrifices she made for me is the heart of this story.
