Heneghan Family Fund
Donation protected
On Sunday, March 12, the very sudden and devastating death of our dear friend Declan ‘Mayo’ Heneghan occurred at the young age of 42. Declan leaves behind his loving wife Karen and his doting children Liam and Zoe, ages 9 and 11. A benefit will take place on Sunday, October 1 at 2 - 10 pm at the Rockland GAA Clubhouse and Pavilion in Orangeburg, NY to bring the community together to remember Declan and to raise all that we can to support his family. The benefit committee has set up this page to support their fundraising and to reach those who are unable to join us on the day of the benefit. Any donations are greatly appreciated.
A bit about Declan-
Declan was born and raised in Kilmaine, Co. Mayo, Ireland and moved to New York when he was just 22 years old. Shortly after he arrived in New York, he met his wife-to-be Karen McCague in Woodside, Queens. They lived in Maspeth for 14 years, welcoming their two children Zoe and Liam into the world. As the kids got older, they decided to move out of the city and settled in Pearl River in Rockland County where they would spend the last six happy years together. Declan was a proud supporter of the Mayo GAA and assistant manager of the NY Monaghan Football Team. He was generous to those around him and was the best friend anyone could ask for. His memory will live on in his two beautiful children. Your donation will directly support their futures.
