Henfield Scout Community Centre Building Appeal
Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of the CLARKES MEAD TRUST and every donation will help to complete the construction of the HENFIELD SCOUT COMMUNITY CENTRE.
The old timber Scout Hut was rotting rapidly and eventually became unsafe for continued use and had to be demolished. The 1st Henfield Scout Group, home to "the oldest existing Scout Troop in the world" has had to temporarily relocate to Hillside District Campsite whilst the new building is constructed.
I and a small team of volunteers have been raising funds and planning the new building for 30 years, to provide a Scout Community Centre that the whole Henfield Community can use alongside the Scout Group. Construction of the shell building is complete, the underfloor heating pipes have been screeded over ready for air-source heat pumps to be installed shortly. The interior fit-out of studwork walls has commenced, a rainwater harvesting system is about to be installed and a 60x PV panel solar array will be installed during July. The project is almost complete and the Scouts and community will soon be able to start enjoying the new facilities, however the Appeal fund has a funding shortfall of £55,000 and I am appealing to you for your help.
Thank you in advance for your contribution, it will help greatly to address the funding shortfall and provide a very valuable community building for the residents of Henfield and the surrounding villages.
Having lived in Henfield for 53 years, and been involved with the 1st Henfield Scout Group for 40+ years, this cause means so much to me and I thank you for your kind support.
