Hengle Family Fire Relief

Donation protected
In the last ten months, Bridget and Halley Hengle have faced more tragedy than most people experience in a lifetime. In November of 2022, Bridget’s husband and Halley’s father lost the battle to cancer, and we have felt the loss of his presence every day since. Bridget assumed the role of sole provider and single mother to her daughter Halley, a junior this year at Virginia Tech.

On August 30th, 2023 a violent fire spread and destroyed the home, memories, and possessions of Bridget, Halley, and Tommy. Bridget was asleep in her bed when she was alerted to the fire spreading to her room, around 3 AM. She was able to call for help and jumped from her second-story bedroom window, with only moments to spare. Sadly, firefighters were only able to recover one of the family dogs shortly after and the other a day later.

After Bridget narrowly escaped the fire, she was hospitalized and is currently receiving treatment for severe smoke inhalation and other injuries. The house was “deemed a total loss” by the fire marshal, and what personal belongings remain are unsalvageable. In the coming days, the Hengle family will be without a steady income while Bridget takes time to recover. While her family and friends are providing support, there is a great need for the difficult days that lie ahead.

As Bridget and Halley recover and begin to cope with their new reality (and knowing they would not want to burden others by asking for help) their entire family is humbling asking for assistance in funding their recovery on their behalf. This will help with:

1.) Medical treatment.
2.) Replacing basic living items.
3.) Any additional unforeseen needs or expenses.

Any form of support is appreciated. Please consider sharing this fundraiser to ensure that the Hengle family receives as much support as possible. Thank you for your love and kindness.
