My name is Malaka Shala, I am the mother of Hennessy Marie, we had come so far and survived so many obstacles. Her and I had overcome abuse at the hands of her father, and we overcame that together. She was so important to me and so many others a true warrior.

She was such a deep loving soul who would do anything for those in need. She was in love with art and fashion and was very driven to someday start her own Interior Designing company.

She was only 26 years old and had many years to live and I never thought that I would ever be writing this about my daughter. I am asking her friends, family and others touched to help as she didn't have any life insurance. I would like to put together a celebration of life for her at the beach. As the last conversation I had with her she said she wanted to go home back to sunset cliffs.

Moving forward I would like to setup a non-profit in her name to bring awareness to safe driving during weather storms. Also, to stress how we need to make it ok and comfortable for people to talk about abuse rather physical, mental, emotional etc.
