My name is Henry Dunn, I am 25 years old and I have set up this Go Fund Me page to raise funds to cover costs not covered by the insurance allowing me to regain the exciting and adventurous life I previously lived.
"The Northern Territory Workers' Compensation Scheme is a no fault scheme. There is no ability for a worker to sue their employer or co-worker of the same employer for negligence under common law (s52)"
On November 15th 2022 I became an upper limb amputee after being involved in an accident whilst working on a remote cattle station in the Northern Territory, Outback Australia. It wasn’t the end to my travels as anyone expected but what’s most important now is building a strong foundation for both my physical and mental recovery.
After graduating in 2020 from Cardiff Metropolitan University and Covid guidelines being lifted, I was finally able to fly out to Thailand on the 19th of January 2022 which marked the start of my year abroad travelling Southeast Asia and then progressing to New Zealand and Australia. In the 11 months of being away, I met amazing people, experienced new cultures, foods, and activities which all aided my personal development and view of the world. For the last 3 months, I set out to work on a Cattle Station in the Northern Territory; an amazing experience where I learnt so much about working with cattle and station life.
As I approached my last week before heading on to Perth, I was involved in a serious accident and was flown over 500km with Care Flight to Royal Darwin Hospital where I underwent emergency surgery which resulted in the amputation of my lower left arm.
Due to the Northern Territory Workers' Compensation Scheme, the funds raised will help cover costs that are not covered by the insurance. This includes things such as a a specialised Gym Prosthetic which will enable me to continue to partake in movements which will allow me to build my injured side and continue to do the training I love. This prosthetic will be designed for specific movements allowing for greater comfort, support and longer durations for sport specific movements.

CrossFit Adaptive Games 2024:
The CrossFit door opened when Henry stepped foot into his local Box on his return from Australia. Henry has been consistent in all his training which has allowed him to qualify for the Games in September held in Texas.
Participating in a world class event like the CrossFit Games comes with significant expenses. Donations to this page will go towards covering costs as the trip will be all self funded.
Travel Costs: Ensuring Henry can travel safely and comfortably to the competition venue (Flights and travel costs)
Accommodation: Providing a supportive and accessible environment for Henry and his coach during the event (10-day window)
Competition Fees: Covering the entry costs for the competition ($400)
Training and Equipment: Ensuring Henry has access to the best training facilities in the lead up to competing and adaptive equipment needed to compete at the highest level.
Living Expenses: Ensuring Henry has access to optimal nutrition in preparation for competing.

Other areas include specialised equipment for all sport and leisure such as cycling attachments and bike adaptive kits, CrossFit Adaptive straps, ropes, aids and specialised kit for specific tasks. All leisure related adaptive items that require me to continue to carry out the activities I loved e.g. fishing attachments, gardening and sport specific attachments and aids.
I will be looking at adaptive training courses, charitable events and seminars which will all aid my recovery both physically and mentally.
Any donations you can give will be massively appreciated. I will keep you posted on my progress via my Instagram and how the donations you have made improve the quality of my life as an amputee. I am optimistic about the future and the challenges to come.
Many Thanks,
Henry.
