Henry Wong, a Loving Tribute

All about Henry Wong :D
Our dear Henry Wong passed away last week on the 20th September, 2019, from lung cancer which later spread to his brain membrane. When Henry was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2014, he had been living an athletic and happy-go-lucky existence. Immediately following his diagnosis, he seriously questioned whether he would be able to continue life as normal. In true Henry fashion though, he found ways (community and faith); people who would help him achieve normalcy and enjoyment in a good quality of life. The funds raised on this page will go towards the Sydney Cancer Survivorship Centre and Lung Foundation Australia, organisations close to Henry's heart.
Sydney Cancer Survivorship Centre
The SCSC is a place where cancer survivors have access to a dedicated team of multidisciplinary professionals to support their individual needs following a cancer diagnosis. It was established in 2013 not long before Henry received his diagnosis. He was heavily involved in activities and often spent the greater part of his week attending and participating in centre activities including Arts & Crafts, Qigong and Music classes. Henry & Sandra made many great friends here and visiting the centre was a joyous part of their week.
Lung Foundation Australia
Lung Foundation Australia is working to improve lung health and reduce the impact of lung disease for all Australians. Henry participated in a Telephone Support Group held by Lung Foundation Australia on a frequent basis. This group helped him by connecting him with others going through similar life changes and challenges (physical, mental and emotional).
