Henry's campaign for HIGHBURY OPERA THEATRE

I am taking part in an organised 10K run at the Olympic Park on 12th December to raise money for Highbury Opera Theatre a charity of which I am trustee and chair. We are currently working with Michael Palin on staging his play ‘The Weekend’ as an opera. The opera has been written and is currently at rehearsal stage with a view to doing live theatre performances in September 2021. The next stage on their journey will be to do a simple audio and video recording as a ‘draft’ to see how the show is developing. This is scheduled for 17th December but like all charities our funding has been affected by Covid leaving our coffers precariously depleted.

Guildhall School of Music and Drama has very generously offered us their theatre as the venue plus their technical team at no cost. However, in order to do this recording HOT desperately needs to raise £3K to be able to pay the professional soloists and musicians who also have had a very tough time over the last 9 months

If the run is called off and I have no medal to show you the three of us will still run 10K and record it on Strava app.
