Henry’s ASD Cardiac Catherization Surgery
Donation protected
This fundraiser is to help cover some of Henry’s medical expenses because of his problems with his heart. Henry has been dealing with numerous visits to his primary care physician, cardiologist, and hospital due to his heart condition since May 12, 2020. This has led to him trying different options that the doctors have recommended to finally figure out what was the issue with his heart. Bills have been constantly racking up due to multiple tests like bloodwork, EKG, heart monitor, echocardiography, prescriptions they have given him, and a transesophageal echocardiography at the hospital. His doctors initially thought this was an anxiety issue until his EKG test came back abnormal. His heart monitor, echocardiogram, and TEE (transesophageal echocardiography) showed that there were multiple abnormalities with the structure of his heart. Henry’s cardiologists discovered that his heart’s electrical rhythm is abnormal. His cardiologist diagnosed him with a disease called Atrial Septum Defect (a hole in Henry’s heart from birth that did not close up and causes the heart to overwork itself due to blood circulating in circles mixing non-oxygenated blood and oxygenated blood rather than blood traveling around his entire body). The defect has led to enlargement on both sides of his heart and caused Henry to have many symptoms that he deals with everyday. Some of the symptoms include shortness of breath, heart palpitations (uncomfortable fluttering/pounding of the heart), numbness around his body, fatigue, hot flashes, and fluctuations of fast, slow, and skipped heart beats. His cardiologist stated that if the hole is left untreated, it will lead to serious problems later in life like stroke, various heart problems, or even death by the time he is age 25 and up. He hasn’t been doing much strenuous activity since, and is instructed to limit caffeine intake and only walk as a form of exercise until he consults with the Dr who will operate on him prior to surgery. His cardiologist stated that this will most likely be about a 1 year process of check ups and more tests for his heart after the surgery to make sure that there are no complications. The TEE alone cost $5400 out of pocket after insurance. His frequent dr visits and prescriptions since his symptoms started in May have exceeded over $1000. Any donation and sharing of this fundraiser will help, all of the funds will go towards Henry’s medical bills to cover some of the expenses. Please share this and help us raise money for Henry to be healthy and back to being active again. We thank you all in advance for helping us with Henry’s heart condition!!!
