Henry's Food Pantry Mitzvah Project
Tax deductible
Hello, my name is Henry Blair and I am having my Bar Mitzvah on January 20th, 2024. For my mitzvah project, I have decided to help children and local families in my school district by collecting monetary donations to fund the Food Pantry at Mattituck High School.
The North Fork is an incredible place to live, we are surrounded by such unique natural beauty and people choose to vacation here every year. It is a very different reality for some people though. There are over 100 families in the Cutchogue/Mattituck school district who utilize the food pantry on a regular basis. The North Fork is a very expensive place to live and through no fault of their own, these people need our help.
The pantry helps these families by not only providing food it also helps them pay for heating, oil and other utilities. It also provides snacks for every classroom in the district. Perhaps most importantly, they make sure that the help they provide is done in the most dignified and respectful way. The recipients of the assistance are not made to feel embarrassed or singled out, it is done in confidence so they are left with their dignity.
Many people do not realize that things like soap, toothpaste, food items and other household expenses are basic necessities that are still too expensive for some families to afford. I think it is terrible that in this beautiful part of the world some people are struggling to pay for basic necessities. That is why I would like to help raise money for this cause.
If you would like to help me in my mission to raise as much money as possible for this fund please consider giving whatever you can. Any donation, big or small, can make a difference.
Thank you so much for any help you can give.
Henry
