Hensley Baseball 12U Road to Cooperstown!

I am writing to introduce you to an incredible opportunity to support a group of dedicated young athletes from our community. Under the exceptional leadership of Head Coach Matt Hensley, a San Diego native and former MLB pitcher drafted in the 10th round by the Anaheim Angels, our 12U travel baseball team is preparing to compete at the prestigious Cooperstown All Star Village in New York this upcoming August 2025.

Coach Hensley has transformed from an MLB pitcher to an outstanding youth baseball coach over the past 13 years. His unwavering commitment to properly training and developing young baseball players has not only honed their skills but also instilled in them the values of teamwork and perseverance.

Two years ago, Coach Hensley led a team to victory in the championship game at Cooperstown, and we are eager to replicate that success. Cooperstown All Star Village offers a once-in-a-lifetime experience for 12-year-old baseball players. It is a week filled with incredible baseball, living in dorms with teammates, and playing at all hours of the day. This is more than just a tournament; it is a transformative experience for these young athletes.

Our team, comprised of dedicated players from the Alpine and El Cajon areas of East County, has been working tirelessly to prepare for this extraordinary level of competition. However, the journey to New York, including tournament fees and necessary supplies, is a costly endeavor. The fees alone exceed $30,000.

We are reaching out to local businesses and community members to help us raise the necessary funds for this opportunity. In appreciation of your support, we will be creating custom jerseys and shirts featuring the logos and sponsor information of our generous contributors.
