Help Ana Get Secure Housing

Donation protected

"Greetings, I am Anastasia Wallace, a Texas native born in Amarillo who grew up in the Northwest Texas Panhandle. I have been struggling with ever changing housing rent costs since 2007, so roughly, thirteen years of tenant hardships. I am currently battling homelessness due to chronic poverty and severe financial disparity in local Austin real estate. Capitalist greed is constantly making it unbearable and unaffordable to live and thrive. Maintaining a steady budget to meet the demanding needs and expenses for survival in Travis County is economically challenging. I am staying in a motel that is only temporarily funded and paid for until the end of December 2020. After the pandemic-based hotel coverage is over, I will be dumped back onto the streets, which is the reason I am needing donors and givers, generous, kind-hearted people who are loving and caring. I am desperate, vulnerable, and oppressed. I urge people to donate and assist me in a housing placement. My cash goal is $13,000. This will assist me in getting inside a payable studio or efficiency one-bedroom apartment. I am not employed and have been dependent on friends and churches, whom both are my lifelines and supportive angels in these harsh realities. We need to help the poor and those who lack. I do not have any family nor source of income, and as a black trans woman, it is unsafe for me to be unsheltered. Austin is a rich town and it saddens me to cope with wealth gap that is growing and worsening. I am very at risk and marginalized, and if I don’t get blessings of helpers, I will end up in the woods or at camps or somewhere inhumane and unpleasant. I need to keep my mental sanity and a roof over my head. I became homeless by having a money shortage and not being able to keep up with rising rents and bills. All I need is people lifting me up and investing in my future. Government assistance is broken. It is up to all of us to make lives better.”

In order to support our friend Ana, we are campaigning to raise enough money to secure a year-long lease and ideally cover the expenses of utilities alongside it; to account for platform & transaction costs, we have set this goal to ensure we can put the exact amount Ana stated she needs right into her hands. This sum of money will assist in overcoming barriers that may arise during application processes due to gaps in rental history and income. In order for Ana to have space & time needed to rest, recover, and pursue her goals, she deserves stable & secure housing and a place to call her own and put down new roots. We appreciate our greater community coming together to help achieve this goal.
