Her First Best Friend Is Hurt — Help Us Save Luciano’s Life
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Aly, and I’m writing this through tears. Our sweet little Pomeranian, Luciano, was attacked in front of my daughter and me. It was fast, violent, and left him with a fractured leg and so much pain — physically and emotionally. We’re still trying to process it. My daughter can’t stop crying. I can’t stop crying. The trauma of watching someone you love be hurt like that doesn’t leave you.
Luciano is more than just our pet. He’s my daughter’s first real pet — her best friend. She’s only little, but their bond is something magical. They play together all day, share snacks, cuddle on the couch, and when she’s not home, she uses a walkie-talkie just to talk to him. That’s how much she loves him. He’s her shadow. Her safe place. Her puppy.
Seeing him unable to walk, crying in pain, not understanding what’s happening — it’s killing us. We rushed him to the emergency vet and did everything we could to stabilize him. We’ve already pulled out loans and spent nearly $2,000 to get him X-rays, pain meds, and an overnight stay to manage his suffering. But now the vet has told us he needs surgery. Without it, he may never walk normally again.
The estimate for his surgery and follow-up care is $4,504.17. It’s a number that feels impossible right now, but I can’t give up on him. We can’t. I’m doing something I’ve never done before — I’m asking for help, not just for me, but for my daughter, who keeps asking if her best friend is going to be okay.
If you can donate, even a little, it would mean the world. And if you can’t, sharing this with others who might be able to help would mean just as much.
Thank you for reading, for holding space for us, and for helping us give Luciano the chance to run, play, and be a puppy again.
With love and hope,
Aly, Charlotte & Luciano
