Herb Davis Needs Spine Surgery and Your Help
Donazione protetta
My father was diagnosed with a degenerative disc disease that has, in effect, riddled him with a constant, searing upper back pain that prevents him from leaving the apartment, and nerve damage that prevents him from using his right hand normally. This has been going on for months.
We were overjoyed when we found out that an artificial disc replacement surgery for his two heavily affected vertebrae would alleviate his pain and, after months of physical therapy, could even get him to the point where he would be able to start working again.
But then we found out that ConnectiCare was refusing to cover this surgery due to a small clause in the insurance contract, despite the fact that this disease has effectively relegated my father to a diet of constant pain medications just so he can sit normally.
Still, we tried to persevere, attempting to work with the doctor and the hospital on a payment plan that I, myself, could start trying to cover with my own paychecks. We were able to schedule the initial surgery for March 5, 2019.
But then we were told, four days before the surgery, that the hospital and the doctor would not allow such a payment plan, and in order for them to even schedule Herb's surgery, we would need to pay the doctor entirely upfront.
Herb's surgery is now pending, and I am rushing to try and raise the funds to get my father the medical care he so desperately needs.
Please help. Anything that anyone can provide, no matter how little, will go towards our efforts to convince the hospital to put my father's health and wellness above its profits.
