Herbert Family Home Fundraiser
Donation protected
As many of you probably remember in January of 2016, Clint Herbert was in a head on collision and sadly passed that night. He was survived by his wife, Dawn and their seven children aging in age from 1 to 18. This was enough sadness for one family to endure for a lifetime. However, tragedy struck the Herbert house again when their mother Dawn had a heart-attack and passed last Friday, leaving the family with siblings aged 7 to 25. They are a very close knit family and are doing everything in their power to stay together. Jayden (3rd grade), Alexis (10th grade) and Rebecca (12th grade) are active students in the Somers school system. Kenny, Stephen, Michael and Austin (older brothers) have been strong and amazing. The extended family is stepping up in a huge way and they are trying to fix the Herbert home. It's been painted and cleaned. But their Shenorock home could use a bit of TLC. A new boiler, siding and funeral costs are at the top of the list to allow the older siblings and extended family to focus on the important things. These high price items are simply out of reach financially for the young siblings to afford.
When adversity finds its way into this community, Somers always seem to band together in order to generate the response that is needed. Today, and in the days ahead, the Herbert family can use your resilience and your kindness as well your generosity to help them get through the challenges they will face. Nothing will replace the loss of 2 parents for young Jayden or the other 6 siblings. But what we can do as a community is help them live their best lives through our support. If you’re a plumber or heating specialist who can pitch in with the boiler, please reach out. Siding as well. Any contractors willing to pitch in would be terrific! We are looking to raise $35,000 to provide the family with a new boiler, other home repair related items and funeral costs. If they can stay and live in their current home, this will go along way in helping to provide the shelter and safety that we all take for granted. We are asking for any kind of donation to help this very deserving family. It breaks our hearts to have to ask for donations, but you would truly be helping a beautiful family that has endured so much in their short lives. Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. 100% of donations (Minus GoFundMe fees) will go to the family.
